Mosaic Mental Wellness is a group private practice located in downtown Wichita, KS. Mosaic Mental Wellness places a high value on its staff and has cultivated a workplace culture of inclusion, collaboration, mutual respect, open communication, and a structure that encourages work/life balance.
Mosaic Mental Wellness will provide a $27,000 stipend for two interns. As full-time employees of the Mosaic Mental Wellness, intern(s) will be provided 80 hours of PTO (this includes both vacation and sick leave). Full-time interns will be provided staff parking and will be provided an office including access to Mosaic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), an office version of Microsoft 365. Mosaic will provide marketing materials, including business cards and professional pictures to be displayed on the company website and other marketing materials. Mosaic Mental Wellness agrees to cover all fees related to licensing interns in the State of Kansas. Interns will be required to pass a background check before starting the internship. Mosaic Mental Wellness is not currently offering health insurance as part of the benefit package but can offer resources connecting intern(s) with marketplace and/or other private insurance options.
Mosaic Mental Wellness will provide training experiences that will assist growth in the following competency areas:

Jenni L. Harshbarger, PhD, LP
Dr. Harshbarger is a co-owner and a clinician at Mosaic Mental Wellness. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminology from Concord College in Athens, WV. She earned her master’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University, and her PhD in Community Clinical Psychology from Wichita State University. Dr. Harshbarger completed her pre-doctoral internship through the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program (WCPIP). Her primary placement was through Wichita State University Counseling and Testing Center. Her secondary placement was split between KU School of Medicine in neuropsychology and Prairie View in neuropsychology (six months each). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Wichita State University Counseling and Testing Center, specializing in learning disability and ADHD assessment. Her previous experience has been varied. Dr. Harshbarger worked as a staff clinician at Wichita State University and Clemson University. She served as the Director of Eating Disorder services at Clemson University for three years, prior to returning to the Wichita area. Dr. Harshbarger worked for seven years at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center as a staff clinician and subsequently served as the Associate Chief of Staff of Behavioral Health for two years. Dr. Harshbarger co-opened Mosaic Mental Wellness in 2017. Dr. Harshbarger specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma. Her approach is to combine Evidenced Based Practice with whole body wellness. Dr. Harshbarger uses multiple therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure. She also frequently incorporates biofeedback therapy and mindful meditation. In addition to therapy, Dr. Harshbarger continues to provide assessment services, including presurgical evaluation, learning disability and ADHD evaluation, and general psychological evaluations for the purpose of differential diagnosis.
Sarah McGill, PhD, LP
Dr. Sarah McGill currently works as a full-time clinician at Mosaic Mental Wellness. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Kansas, her master’s degree in Psychology from Wichita State University and her PhD in Community/Clinical Psychology from Wichita State University. Dr. McGill completed her pre-doctoral internship through the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program (WCPIP). Her primary placement was through the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Her secondary placement was at CAPS. Dr. McGill has extensive experience working with children, families, and adults from diverse backgrounds with complex presentations. She specializes in treating a range of issues, including interpersonal and emotion regulation difficulties, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns. As a Wichita native, Dr. McGill is dedicated to serving and supporting her local community. Her warm, collaborative style and direct communication, combined with a touch of humor, make both an effective and engaging clinician. Dr. McGill’s favorite part of working with clients is helping guide them through transformative, “aha” moments.
Kassy Johnson, PhD, LP
Dr. Kassy Johnson currently works as a full-time clinician at Mosaic Mental Wellness. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University, her master’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University, and her PhD in Community/Clinical Psychology from Wichita State University. She completed her APA Accredited pre-doctoral internship through the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program (WCPIP). Her primary placement was through Counseling and Psychological Services at Wichita State University (CAPS). Her secondary placement was at Prairie View. Dr. Johnson has experience working with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings. She has worked closely with parents and children to develop strategies to help children through difficult stages and disorders throughout childhood, including behavior problems, depression, and anxiety. She also enjoys working closely with adults struggling with social issues, depression, anxiety and grief. Dr. Johnson utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches in her practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She seeks to find what works for each person and remain open to the individual needs of each client. She has a passion to help her clients grow, learn, and thrive through each stage of their lives.
Robert Johnson, PhD, LP
Dr. Robert Johnson is a part-time clinician at Mosaic Mental Wellness and works fulltime at the Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ft. Hays State University, his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming, and his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Wyoming. Dr. Johnson completed his APA accredited internship at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, KS. Dr. Johnson has over 25 years of clinical experience working in a variety of settings with individuals, couples, and families. As a Kansas native, rural mental health issues have always been an area of focus throughout his training and work which require flexible approaches to help solve challenging problems. He uses evidenced based therapy, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy for depression, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Post-traumatic stress disorder, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for insomnia. His other interests include biofeedback, mindfulness practices, stress reduction strategies, and anger management. He is currently working toward certification in the use of hypnotherapy for various mental health concerns.
